Warm up your Fall Menu with Casa Martinez Salsa

With the approach of fall and the change of weather in sight, our Artisanal Provisions expert Dan Gilpatricks shares ideas to warm things up with unique ingredients in soul-satisfying comfort foods.

Casa Martinez hand-crafted salsas is one of Shamrock Food’s newest Artisanal Provisions partners. Graced with abundant sun and rich soil fed by three rivers in Sinaloan, Mexico, this area been home to the Martinez family since the early 1900s. The family’s mastery of Mexican culinary arts and hand-crafted salsa using only the freshest vegetables and all-natural ingredients spans more than a century.

Gilpatrick recommends combining Casa Martinez Salsa Verde with Villa Frizzone Bowtie Pasta and finishing with Pierport Shrimp or Regal Crest Chicken Breast. Or for a delicious vegan option, the Chipotle Salsa with tofu makes amazing sofritas. The family’s Habanero Salsa is also incredible on fish tacos, and warming the Salsa Roja for huevos ranchos brings flavor that can’t be beat.

Casa Martinez Salsas are truly the “Flavors of Mexico”. These fresh shelf stable salsas have no preservatives or artificial colors. Using only the freshest ingredients with no sugar added, they are gluten-free as well as allergen and lactose free.

SHRIMP CEVICHE VERDE

Ingredients
1 pounds peeled & deveined Pierport Shrimp
1 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups Casa Martinez Salsa Verde
1 Markon Cucumber, partially peeled and diced
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 large Avocados, diced
Corn tortilla chips or Saltine crackers

Instructions
Cut defrosted, raw shrimp into bite sized pieces, and place in a bowl.
Cover with lime juice and Casa Martinez Salsa Verde, and stir.
Add diced cucumber and avocados, and mix gently.
Cover and refrigerate for a few hours, or better if marinated overnight.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve in small glasses, shot glasses or martini glasses. Serve with tortilla chips, saltine crackers or by itself. Enjoy!
