Why This Blend?
This on-trend, hearty greens mix is a highly nutritious, versatile product that can be served raw or cooked which means it’s not only flavorful, it is heart-healthy. These heartier greens are a growing category in both retail and foodservice. Chard was called out as one of the top 5 food trends in 2017 by Forbes Magazine as an interesting alternative to kale.
How Did this Blend Come Into Development?
RSS Aromatic Herbs & Tender Greens was developed by our very own Markon member and
operator chefs during Markon’s Second Annual Chef Summit. In developing this product, the
chefs felt they need a blend that answered the call for both healthy and flavorful salads. With
parsley, cilantro, and baby dill incorporated into the bitter and sweet lettuces, this new mix
packs an aromatic punch from the moment you open the bag.
Get Healthy
The days of herbs being relegated to mere garnishes and flavoring agents are long gone. More and more, research shows the inclusion of herbs can increase everyday health. Fresh herbs contain a variety of micronutrients as well as large quantities of vitamins A, C, and K. Plus: they taste great! Two of our blends ingredients made the ANDI top ten scoring super foods. The higher the score, the more nutrient rich the item is per calorie.
