Fired Up! Chef Challenge stage

FIRED UP! CHEF CHALLENGE

2:00 p.m.

There’s more to love with the 2018 Fired Up! Chef Challenge, now featuring THREE talented local chefs going head-to-head in one epic showdown. Three local chefs have 30 minutes to create a winning dish, using a basket of mystery Shamrock Family of Brands ingredients. They’ll serve up the final creations to be judged by a panel of experts, including Celebrity Chef Richard Blais. One winner will earn major bragging rights and a beautifully designed custom-engraved cleaver. If you’re interested in competing in the Fired Up! Chef Challenge, email FiredUp@shamrockfoods.com.

Perhaps most recognizable as a recurring judge on Bravo’s Top Chef and the winner of Top Chef All-Stars, Celebrity Chef Richard Blais is a successful chef, restaurateur, James Beard nominated cookbook author and television personality.

Blais grew up on Long Island working at McDonald’s. It was here where he first dabbled in cuisine deconstruction, serving filet-o-fish sandwiches sans top bun. Blais went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America and train at The French Laundry, Daniel, Chez Panisse, and el Bulli.

Blais currently owns and operates Trail Blais, a forward-thinking culinary company that has consulted on, designed, and operated popular eateries including multiple outposts of Flip Burger Boutique. In San Diego, where he currently resides, Blais is a partner at the popular Juniper & Ivy and Crack Shack restaurants.

Blais regularly appears as a host and judge on Food Network. He also serves as a regular judge on Bravo’s Top Chef, and has appeared on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray Show, The Chew, The Talk, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, as well as in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, People, InStyle and more.

Pre-registration is available by selecting the city nearest you: Phoenix, Albuquerque, Southern California, or Denver. On show day, onsite registration is available inside the exhibit hall near the main entrance to the show floor at the Registration counter.
